Privacy

Short version: the extension collects nothing, this website collects nothing, and if you support us, Stripe handles the payment. Updated 30 October 2026.

The extension

• No account, no analytics, no tracking. PhilterAds never sends your browsing, your settings or your stats anywhere.
• Everything stays in your browser. Your settings, your counters (ads blocked today and all time), the ads you zapped, your theme and your language are kept in Chrome's own extension storage on your computer. Uninstalling removes them.
• No remote code. The filter lists ship inside the extension. Blocking happens in Chrome itself, through its built-in rule engine.
• The updater (GitHub installs only). If you installed PhilterAds from GitHub and set up the optional updater, it asks GitHub whether a newer version exists and downloads it, like any git pull. GitHub sees that request, as it would for any download. Store installs update through the store instead.
• AI control (coming soon). When it ships, it runs on your own computer and talks only to the AI app you connect. Nothing goes through our servers. We do not have any.

This website

• No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no ads.
• Two choices in your browser. If you pick a language or a theme, we remember it in your browser's local storage so the next page opens the same way. It never leaves your device.
• Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the page and keep out attacks. We do not use it to identify you.

Supporting PhilterAds

• Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card. Stripe shares your name, email, country and the amount with us so we can send receipts and say thank you. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• GitHub Sponsors, if you sponsor there, works the same way under GitHub's privacy statement.
• Cancel any time. Monthly supporters can change or cancel from the link in their Stripe receipt, or from Manage monthly support on our home page.
• Refunds. Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it.
• We do not sell, rent or share supporter details with anyone else.
